Camerawork: shots and angles

  1) Pick  three  camera   shots  from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience. Close up:  This camera shot is close on one aspect of character (usually a characters face). It allows the audience to see emotional reaction. This effects the audience as it gets them intrigued in what's going on. The characters facial expression was quite confused and shocked.  Two shot:  This camera shot is usually a medium shot or medium close up. It allows you to see two characters together. This effects the audience as they are able to watch a conversation that they may be having in-between each other. The two characters were interacting with each other e.g. when the lady said something they both looked at each other. Over-the-shoulder shot:  This camera shot is looking from behind a person at the subject. Normally used for conversations between people or to show character's point-of-view...

Blog tasks: 1) Pick  three   aspects of  camera movement  in the Minority Report clip. Identify the  type  of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience. Zoom: The executive may have chosen to add a scene where the camera is focused on the main character to show his emotions and facial expressions which show how he may be feeling in that moment. Tilt: The executive may have used tilt to portray the 'hero' and 'villain' in a different angle which in this scenario is tilted higher which gives us a medium view. Dolly:  The director may have used dolly to show us the view of how they are being chased.
