Camerawork: shots and angles

 1) Pick three camera shots from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience.

Close up: This camera shot is close on one aspect of character (usually a characters face). It allows the audience to see emotional reaction. This effects the audience as it gets them intrigued in what's going on. The characters facial expression was quite confused and shocked.

Two shot: This camera shot is usually a medium shot or medium close up. It allows you to see two characters together. This effects the audience as they are able to watch a conversation that they may be having in-between each other. The two characters were interacting with each other e.g. when the lady said something they both looked at each other.

Over-the-shoulder shot: This camera shot is looking from behind a person at the subject. Normally used for conversations between people or to show character's point-of-view. In this scene, they used the shot to show the characters point of view which was a computer that they were all on video call.

2) Pick one camera angle that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience.

One camera angle they used was high angle which is used to make the subject small and weak. The effect it has on the audience is that it makes the character look weak as you can see in the scene she is typing on the computer rapidly which may show that she is stressing.
